Shoppers longing to
leave behind the hustle and bustle of a hectic urban
lifestyle are springing into action and buying at
Prairie Springs-Eagle Homes' community of 379
residences in Malta.
Located just north of I-88 near DeKalb, Prairie
Springs is practically manna from heaven for home
seekers desiring a quality built new home in a
quiet, tucked-away location removed from all the
traffic, noise, pollution and pressures of big-town
life.
"Many shoppers who discover our community may have
never heard of Malta before, but they quickly learn
how much of an advantage that is," said Kathy
Szukalski, director of sales and marketing for Eagle
Homes, Inc. "This is a tranquil, quiet village in a
preferred pastoral setting and surrounded by plenty
of peaceful farmland. It's an area that's remained
relatively undisturbed for years. You couldn't ask
for a better locale to raise a family, enjoy your
couplehood or to just get away from the everyday
clamor and commotion."
That's not to say that Prairie Springs is set in the
middle of nowhere with no area amenities to enjoy.
Residents can take advantage of a curving bike and
walking path surrounding a large 27-acre lake that
graces the middle of the property. Kids and kids at
heart alike will appreciate the community's two
baseball diamonds, basketball courts and scenic pond
on the site's eastern boundary. Close proximity to
I-88 allows easy access to nearby DeKalb shopping, a
local Wal-Mart and other attractions. And Northern
Illinois University and Kishwaukee Community College
are just minutes away.
"This is a clean, calm, secluded location that
offers all the charm and bucolic beauty of living in
the country," Szukalski said. "It's a huge appeal
for our customers, many of whom want to raise their
children in a family friendly, small-town
environment."
Perhaps the biggest perk to living in Prairie
Springs is the amply sized homes and the low price
tags, she added.
"You simply get more for your money out here in
Malta, and the cost of living in this area is
minimal compared to suburban locations closer to
Chicago," she said.
In all, Prairie Springs buyers can choose from 12
spacious two-story and ranch single-family home
designs, each offering three to four bedrooms,
one-and-a-half to two-and-a-half baths, a two-car
garage, large eat-in kitchen, oversized closets and
great room (per plan). Depending on the home,
available options include fireplaces, skylights,
volume ceilings in the master bedroom, and
additional bedrooms. Several Prairie Springs
homesites offer scenic lake views and back up to
open space.
Sizes vary from 1,207 to 2,301 square feet, and base
prices range from $162,590 to $217,890 (all prices
subject to change without notice).
More than half of Prairie Springs' first phase of
homes has sold, and four new fully furnished model
homes are now open for touring. Future phases at
Prairie Springs will include townhomes and duplexes,
Szukalski noted.
Sales for Prairie Springs are now being conducted at
its new on-site sales center in Malta. To reach the
community, take I-88 west to Annie Glidden Road and
exit north; head north to Malta Road; head west on
Malta Road for approximately 7 miles as it winds;
proceed to the sales center and new models on the
right. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For more
